How we produce

Craft in service of the story

A show is not defined by how many cameras it uses or the resolution it records in. It is defined by how well it makes the machinery disappear, so that all you notice is the conversation and the people having it. That is the principle; this is how we apply it.

Principles

Five decisions that are not up for negotiation

Audio comes first

We treat sound as the absolute priority. Perfect audio with imperfect video is acceptable; perfect video with poor audio is not. Viewers forgive a less-than-perfect shot; nobody forgives bad sound.

The face tells the story

Medium shots and close-ups are the default framing. What matters is the face of the person speaking, and of the person listening.

Light that doesn't dramatize

Soft, wraparound lighting with no hard shadows. The light supports the scene; it adds no drama that isn't there.

The set speaks before anyone does

The set is not decoration: it conveys the show's values before anyone says a word. That is why the Outstarting set is warm and the Polemizando set is sober.

Editing without losing what is human

Editing removes the noise, not the humanity. We cut the dead air, not the genuine hesitations, and the silences that carry emotion stay in.

The process

From the idea to the published episode

This is our typical schedule for an episode recorded on set: about four weeks of preparation before recording, and another four before release.

01

Selection and research

We define the guest profile, do the research and find the episode's main angle.

02

Contact and briefing

We confirm availability and send the guest a briefing covering the format and what to expect.

03

Preparing the content

We write the running order and the questions. On Polemizando we also prepare the context documents the AI will work from.

04

Technical pre-production

We confirm the set, rig and test the equipment, and do a test recording without the guest.

05

Recording

Set-up, checks and recording. Nobody interrupts an answer, even over a minor technical problem: that is what the backup audio is for.

06

Editing and post-production

Selecting takes, video editing, color correction and audio mixing. Then titles, graphics, music, a final review and clips for social media.

07

Release

Upload to the platforms, with the episode description and the social media schedule.

Three formats

One craft, three ways of sitting down

Profesionales Excepcionales

A one-hour interview, recorded in audio and video. Javier Pascual explores each guest's professional side and their personal one. It airs on radio and is released on video and as a podcast.

Interview

About the show

Outstarting

Two people on set, interviewer and guest, with one camera each. A biographical, inspiring approach with a warm, intimate tone. Before recording we look for the turning points, contradictions and tensions in the guest's story, not their résumé.

Interview

About the show

Polemizando

Three people at the table, the host and two guests, plus a screen for the AI. An intellectual, dialectical approach with a sober tone. The point here is not to get to know the people but to master the topic: the host moderates without taking sides.

Debate

About the show

Live AI · Polemizando

There is an AI at the table. It has no opinion

It is neither a participant nor a referee. It is a transparency tool: there to check what is said, not to rule on who is right. It does not replace preparation either: it is a safety net.

It verifies

When someone quotes a figure or a statistic, it confirms it, qualifies it or contradicts it, with sources.

It flags

It points out when an argument contains a known formal fallacy, without judging the substance.

It adds context

It brings in framing data that nobody at the table has mentioned.

It knows when to stay quiet

If the conversation flows with nothing to check, it stays out. And if it is not certain enough, its instruction is to say so, not to fill the gap.

From each recording

One episode, several pieces

The full episode

On video, and as audio for podcast platforms.

Clips for social media

An opening clip with the episode's strongest moment and several themed clips, each carrying one complete idea. Vertical, with subtitles.

Description and thumbnail

A summary that sets up the episode, the topics with their timestamps and a short bio of the guest. Plus a thumbnail with their face and a headline.

Before release

If something fails, it does not go out

Every episode goes through a final review before release. If one point is not met, it gets fixed first.

The sound

Every word is easy to understand, no background noise is noticeable on headphones and the voices sit at the same volume.

The picture

Correct focus and exposure in every shot, matching color across both cameras, and titles that are legible and free of typos.

The facts

The guest's name, role and project, verified and up to date. And every statistic or historical fact mentioned in the episode, checked.

The guest's approval

The guest confirms they are happy for the episode to be released.

Our own technology

Production runs on a tool built in-house, with a person signing off on whatever gets released.
